The Battle Hymn of the Republic
.
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored
.
.
.
.
.
He had loosed the fateful lightening of his terrible swift sword
His truth is marching on.
.
.
.
.
I have seen him in the watch-fires
Of a hundred circling camps
They have builded him an altar
In the evening dews and damps
.
.
I have read his righteous sentence
By the dim and flaring lamps
His day is marching on
.
.
.
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
His truth is marching on
.
.
I have read a fiery gospel
Writ in burnish’d rows of steel
As ye deal with my contemptors
So with you my grace shall deal
Let the hero, born of woman
Crush the serpent with his heel
Since my God is marching on
.
.
.
He has sounded forth the trumpet
That shall never call retreat
He is sifting out the hearts of men
Before His judgment-seat
Oh, be swift, my soul
To answer him be jubilant, my feet
Our God is marching on
.
.
.
.
.
.
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
His truth is marching on
His truth is marching on
.

That is one of your best yet. Capturing Galena for what it is known for. I really do think they are phenomenal. Have you posted it to facebook?!

These photos do make you feel as if you were there. Great job Michelle.
So talented Michelle. I love the photos. They look authentic. The flag gave you away though (only 34 states at the start and 36 at the end of the Civil War).
that’s their flag … only 44 stars then ! guess they didn’t have one ….???
Love your photos! I’m so glad I met you and discovered your blog!
Really well done Michelle, love, love!!!
